In Muslim countries Friday (Jumu’ah) is the day off work, the weekend starts on Thursday’s afternoon and ends on Friday’s night.
The facilities are generally closed on Fridays, some closed on Fridays and Saturdays as well.
Some of businesses ( shopping centers ) are opened for few afternoon hours on Friday.
During the month of Ramadan ( the date floats around September) the shops and institutions have shorter working day.
The average day of work starts at 8 and ends at 18 with the long 3-hours lunch break between 13 and 16.

Banks 8 – 13 and 16 -18
Shops 8 -13 and 16-23
Shopping Malls 10-23 ( later opening with no lunch break )
Pharmacies 8 – 18 ( some open 24 h )
According to law the bars and night clubs have to be closed by 3 in the morning.
